Middleweight UFC contender Chael Sonnen has tested positive for drugs. The garrulous Oregonian wrestler, who talked at length about being a straight arrow and hard worker before and after losing to Silva, was found to have a ’steroid substance’ in his post fight urine sample, and has been suspended for one year by the California State Athletic Commission.
It has been confirmed by various sourced in the past few hours that Sonnen’s testosterone levels were above normal and that he told commission officials prior to the fight that he had been taking something. Although whether or not he intends to appeal the suspension is not yet known.
